A great place to keep Fit

out and about
in milngavie

With easy access to sports centres, gyms, trails and hills, Milngavie is a great place to explore whilst keeping moving and getting fit.  What’s more, the fitter you get, the more you can explore!

Here are some of my favourite places and some ideas to keep you moving.

gyms and facilities

My state-of-the-art gym isn’t open to the general public or available outwith your weekly session but that doesn’t mean you can’t do extra training sessions if you live in the Bearsden and Milngavie area.  There are some decent alternative options:

Pure Gym Milngavie
110-112 Main St, Milngavie, Glasgow G62 6JN
24 hour access from around £20/month

Allander Leisure Centre
Milngavie Rd, Bearsden, Glasgow G61 3DF
Monthly memberships from around £30/month

Massage and physiotherapy

Matt Williamson – Matt has run Ultramarathons representing GB so he understands exactly what makes runners tick.

Sports Massage with Beth Vance – Beth  will have your legs feeling as good as new. And the best part is she operates in the
treatment room thats in the same gym NC Fitness operates from.

RUNNING LOCATIONS

Bearsden and Milngavie have no shortage of quiet suburban streets to get out running on, along with plenty of parks.

Mugdock Reservoir is perfectly flat and ideal for beginners with a complete loop at just under 5km – perfect if you are starting your Couch to 5K journey.

With the West Highland Way starting in Milngavie and Mugdock Country Park on your doorstep, there’s easy access to some great pavement-free running.

Huntershill Athletics Track (EDLC membership allows access) in Bishopbrigss is only a 15 minutes drive away too.
